About Me

Thank you for your interest in Hear to There Transcripts And More. My name is Jennifer, and I would love to help you with your transcription, writing, or editing needs.

I am a published author, wife, and fur-mom to one spoiled dachshund. I graduated from the Robert E. Cook Honors College at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2005. I could give you plenty of random details about myself and my life, but what I’m sure you really want to know is this:

Why should you hire me?

For as long as I can remember, written communication has been one of my greatest strengths. As a creative writer, I have an excellent grasp of spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as well as an ear for dialogue that helps me translate the nuances of conversation into a clean transcript.

In addition to my freelance work through Hear to There Transcripts, my varied work background includes speech and language annotation, retail sales and merchandising, crisis hotline counseling, market research calling, and previous transcription experience. This cumulative experience makes me comfortable transcribing audio on a wide variety of subjects, as well as audio that includes medical terminology or accents.

I currently reside in Michigan, but as long as your audio is in digital format, distance is no issue in getting your transcript from hear to there.

On the writing and editing side of things, I have a special place in my heart for erotica and erotic romance. There’s enough bad sex in books already, so I’m on a personal mission to help authors craft emotionally satisfying, sensual, arousing, and authentic scenes and books. I was a moderator at Agent Query Connect for quite some time, and as members there got to know my erotic writing, they would often ask me for help with their own intimate scenes. That’s how Mistress Editing was born. I have been a beta reader, critique partner, editor, and proofreader for authors ranging all the way from New York Times bestsellers Cali MacKay and Jean Oram to debut and emerging erotica and romance authors like Kimberlyn Day.

My editing style is direct but gentle with an emphasis on explanation. I don’t make changes without thoroughly explaining the rationale and doing my best to guide you toward changes that will enhance your story and your style.
